Resort Overview

Highview Waters Resort will be complete in June 2016.

The resort has been thoughtfully designed to complement the natural surrounds of the area and includes a six-acre bushwalking forest and a huge wildlife lake.

Highview Waters Resort will provide a unique relaxed atmosphere where its clients can unwind and enjoy the fishing, water-skiing and bushwalking on offer.

The property is perfectly positioned only five minutes’ drive from the thriving hub of Echuca and walking distance from local wineries, so its anticipated that the resorts guest will also contribute to the local economy as they enjoy the region’s many restaurant and wineries. The fast moving consumer goods sector will also benefit from the influx of additional visitors, as will the trades and services sector.

The facilities at Highview Waters Resort will include a pool, tennis court, barbecue area, private boat ramp, a six-acre bushwalking forest and a wildlife lake.

A key feature of the resort is its design. “Green Space” is the key word here. There is provision for only 62 cabins on the property, with only one road and one row of cabins.

The resort will be completed with a high emphasis on eco-sustainability. The infrastructure will include installation of long lasting recycled plastic bollards, outdoor furniture and signage, recycled composite decking (Trex) and other carefully selected ecofriendly material.

The resort will also have strong guidelines to ensure that the designs and all cabins are new, stylish and appropriate to the image we want to portray.

Most cabins will have its own boat shed (optional extra) as part of its lease arrangement. The park will be free from ugly carports and small shed-like arrangements.

Site Allocations

Each site will be 10m by 20m long. We will list three approved builders for the building of the cabins.
The cabin designs are available for viewing on the Highview Waters Resort website – highviewwaters.com.au – and whilst the façade of each cabin will be standard, the interior layout and cabinetry can be changed (at a cost) to suit the buyer’s personal requirements.

The land development, levy bank and structure has exceeded all current government requirements.

About The Site

Water view sites are set back 60m back from the river’s edge and the cabins are elevated to maximise the water view.

Each site is 20m deep and 10m wide. No carports will be required as all sites will have allocated lock up garages.

A key feature of the resort is its design. “Green Space” is the key phrase here. There is provision for only 62 cabins on the property, with only one road and one row of cabins.

The facilities at Highview Waters Resort will include a pool, tennis court, barbecue area, private boat ramp, a six-acre bushwalking forest and a wildlife lake. The development of the land and levy bank and plans for infrastructure all exceed current government requirements.

Boat Storage Facility

Each cabin will have its own boat shed as part of its lease arrangement. The park will be free from ugly carports and small shed-like arrangements.

These boat sheds have been carefully design with large room to house both your boat and any other items that need to be stored.

The storage sheds alone are already highly sought-after feature of the property – the waiting list for them is quite long.

Factor in the private boat ramp, and you’ve got a package any boating enthusiast will love.

Micheal has lived in the Echuca area since 1982. In the early years, he and his mates spent many happy hours by the river at their favourite sandy beach opposite the entry to the Campaspe River, and when the opportunity arose for them to purchase the property now known as Merool Caravan Park, they jumped at the chance.

Back then the block was undeveloped, heavily forested and uninhabited, and over the next 15 years Michael and his friends developed one of Moama/Echuca’s premium parks – Merool Caravan Park! Ask any local or present tenant and they will say that Michael was the driving force behind the exceptional family-friendly atmosphere that’s still one of the features of the park today.

After leaving the park in 1998, Michael purchased the 26-acre block (now known as Highview Waters Resort) next door. Since then Michael has been busy developing the land into the fantastic site it is today. Highview Waters has, without question, the best view on the Murray – the sharp bend creates a unique 270-degree vista over the river below.

This magnificent property has been developed with much foresight. The levy banks have been designed and prepared by Michael himself; no one knows the river better than he does or could have undertaken the works with such precision.

Over the years Michael has opened his home to many travellers and he’s now at the stage where he wishes to fulfil his dream and develop the site.

Sustainable Design

Highview Waters Resort has been designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding environment. Many of the materials featured in the resort were chosen because they offer a sustainable alternative to traditional materials. Where possible the property includes recycled products that offer a long-lasting and low-maintenance solution.

Trex Decks was chosen to construct the decking for each cabin to ensure the high standards and aesthetic quality of the resort is maintained. Trex decking is environmental friendly, maintenance free, and comes with a limited 25 year guarantee against fading and staining. As the material does not require oiling, painting or staining the visual appeal of the cabins will remain consistent over time preserving the appearance of the resort for many years to come.

Replas was chosen as the approved material to be used for outdoor infrastructure throughout the resort. Recycled-plastic furniture, signage, bollards and other appropriate products will be a feature of the grounds and reinforce the sustainable design of the park. The Replas range is low-maintenance, long-lasting and offers an ethical alternative to the use of timber.
