The region’s most distinctively-shaped pool opened in Moama on Saturday. The unique pool, cleverly designed in the shape of Australia, is the centrepiece of Highview Water Resort. It features beautifully landscaped grounds, a meandering stream cascading over a waterfall and an oversized Tasmania-shaped 14-seater spa.

The official opening of the pool – and the resort – is the realisation of owner Michael Fallon’s vision. Fifteen years in the making, Michael’s 16-acre waterfront property has been transformed from a dusty paddock into a modern cabin resort in a bush setting.

Despite the conditions, park residents gathered under a marquee at midday to celebrate the opening. The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the guests, many of whom had put down their deposit on their waterfront block as long as 10 years ago. They were just happy to be there to see Michael’s dream come true.
